Small Groups

Ready to go deeper in your faith? Small Groups are the place to do just that! These groups are designed for you to grow in your love for Jesus and live more like him, while developing meaningful friendships. They launch at the beginning of each semester, run weekly during the school year, and stay together throughout your time in Veritas.

Discovery Class - College

Wondering what The Crossing really believes? This Discovery Class is a 6-week pastor-led class for college aged young adults that covers the core convictions of our church. Together we’ll discuss our views of the Bible, God’s Sovereignty, Creation, the Gospel, Church Membership, and Living Faithfully in the Kingdom. This class is required for becoming a member of The Crossing AND getting baptized at Veritas/The Crossing. Registration is currently closed. Check back at the beginning of the semester to sign up.

What are the service times on Sunday?

The Crossing meets every Sunday at 8:15am, 9:30am and 10:45am. You can find other Veritas students at all three services and out in the foyer in between!

Where should I go when I arrive at The Crossing?

Once you’re parked, head to the main entrance and look for the friendly door holders! If you have questions or want help getting connected, stop by the Welcome Desk just inside the main entrance on your left. Before the service, grab a cup of coffee from the Café or a bagel or donut in the Adult Foyer. When you’re ready, grab a seat in the Auditorium and get ready for worship!

What can I expect on a Sunday morning?

Sunday services last about an hour. We start each service by singing a few worship songs together, with moments to help you pray and reflect. Then one of our pastors shares a practical, Bible-centered message that speaks to everyday questions and challenges. We wrap up with a final song and a short encouragement for the week ahead! Stick around after to get to know people, or head out if you need to!

I missed the date to sign up for a Small Group! What should I do?

Small Group signups will re-open at the beginning of every school semester. Until then, we encourage you to fill out the Small Group Interest Form and keep coming on Tuesday Nights!

It seems like Small Groups are a big commitment, is that true?

In a way, yes! Small Groups are designed for you to learn to live like Jesus alongside other students trying to do the same. The long-term, consistent nature of the group helps you build close relationships, share vulnerably, and love Jesus together. While they may seem like a big step, we believe they're the best way to grow spiritually over time.

What happens if, when I go to sign up, there are no openings for me?

We're sorry that's the case! There's a limited number of openings in each Small Group at the beginning of every semester. For now, we'd encourage you to fill out the Small Group Interest Form for early access to next semester's openings. You can find that form by clicking the "Get Started" button on our Small Group section of the Connect Page!

Do I get to choose which Small Group I join?

Yes! When you go to register, you'll see your options based on your grade, gender, availability, and whether you're in a sorority or fraternity.

What does it mean to be a member of The Crossing?

Membership is a commitment to growing, serving, and living out the Christian life alongside other people here at The Crossing. There's no pressure to become a member, but we encourage it for anyone that considers The Crossing their church.

What if I am not available during the time the class is offered?

No problem! We offer the College Discovery Class in the fall and spring semester. If neither works for you, there's a church-wide Discovery Class on Sunday mornings a few times a year. It's the same content, and would still let you move towards membership and baptism. Check out The Crossing's website, or email [email protected] for more info.

Do I need to take the class if I want to be baptized?

Yes, at The Crossing we believe that baptism and membership go hand in hand as a commitment to following Jesus alongside others. To be baptized at Veritas, or during a Sunday service, you need to take the Discovery Class and become a member at The Crossing.
